Selecting a name for our farm was something we pondered for quite some time. Norwegian Fjords are a magical breed of horse, and we wanted to select a name that reflected that. When we first purchased our farm, while at the farm coop, Carol struck up a conversation with a lady regarding children and activities for the summer. She spoke of an aunt that made things fun for them each summer. The aunt told the children when there was a midsummer full moon fairies came to visit and if you left them food, they would leave you gifts. Of course, we began that tradition. We had tiny tables and chairs set out on a tall table, for the fairies to land on, with the smallest sandwiches and desserts you could possibly make. The grandchildren loved helping with the set up. Gifts were left for the children and fairy dust was sprinkled to leave the fairy trail. This yearly event resulted in Fairy Landing Farm being selected as the name of our farm.
